Requirements:
- Prior experience dealing with insurance such as COBRA, HIPPA & ERISA a must
Summary of Position:
- Explains and interprets company insurance program to employees and dependents for such programs as health, dental, vision, group life, salary continuation, long-term disability, and other such policies.
- Receives, reviews and verifies information on electronic enrollment forms submitted by employees.
- Processes and maintains benefits membership and enrollment records.
- Prepares payroll adjustment sheets.
- Sends electronic eligibility file to insurance carriers to update new enrollment, changes and terminations.
- May correspond with employees regarding claim issues and work with insurance carriers for resolution.
- Receives, reviews and processes Salary Continuation applications and verifies FMLA eligibility.
- FMLA leave tracking, mails notification of FMLA eligibility to employees.
- Complete employee mail outs including COBRA Notice, COBRA Acknowledgement, Summary Plan Descriptions, Dependent Eligibility Verification Requests and other benefits related materials.
- Coordinate with filed HR to obtain requested documents from employees and relay information as appropriate.
- Carries out administrative work involved in the benefit functions and maintains related records.
- Ensures that programs are carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA provisions.
- Other duties as needed.
